This tutorial provides the steps to add a fixed side menu navigation in Genesis. It will also work in Any WordPress theme after making some minor changes.
You can enable this menu for the front page or for all pages. The condition can be defined using a conditional tag offered by WordPress.
It can be a good fit for those who are also looking for anchor scroll #front-page-ID which directly scroll you to the specific section defined in HTML and link.
- Create a Menu "side-menu" and drag some Menu items or create an anchor link like this and add it to the menu.
- Click on Screen options and enable CSS and Link Target attributes.
- To add anchor link use #UNIQUE_ID and Text. Each id need to be added/present in html like <div id="UNIQUE_ID"> Post Content</div>
- Add Menu items and CSS icon-1, icon-2 like this for each. We will use this to add Font icon.
- Save it.
